August 2011 – Clean City Powderhorn UPDATE

The mural that Morgan secured financing for through the City of Minneapolis Clean City Program is now complete. The innovative mural has been installed at Acme Awning, located on the 3200 block of Bloomington Avenue. Using metallic gold leaf paint, Minneapolis artist Rich Barlow rendered the speed skating track that made Powderhorn Park a national destination from the 1930s to the 1950s.

June 2011 – Minnesota Main Street Fundraising Consultations

Zehner Consulting has been selected to conduct a series of fundraising consultations for the five designated Main Street communities in the State of Minnesota. Morgan will be visiting the towns of Brainerd, Faribault, New Ulm, Red Wing, and Willmar over the course of a three week period. Each of these communities has very different downtown development histories, organizational missions, internal capabilities, and current funding sources. Morgan’s diverse non-profit and commercial district fundraising experience will give each of these organizations key insights and recommendations into building a sustainable, long-term fund development plan.

In partnership with active residents and commercial property owners in the Powderhorn Park neighborhood of South Minneapolis. Morgan is applying for Clean City funding from the City of Minneapolis to have murals painted and landscaped trellises installed on graffiti plagued commercial properties on the 3200 block of Bloomington Avenue.

Zehner Consulting has been selected to provide a promotion committee training and facilitate a work planning session for Main Street Faribault. In the Main Street approach to downtown revitalization and commercial district management, the promotions committee is responsible for marketing strategy, image development, retail promotions, and special events management.

Zehner Consulting completed a Research and Feasibility Analysis for STEP that includes the business case for starting the association, the structure of the organization, a financial analysis of the association’s sales and profit potential, and quantitative implementation targets for starting the association’s operations.
